Classic style occultist decks borrow heavily from chinese origins, playing cards and esoteric practices of their time which were and are heavily influenced by religion and royal houses. I love the 1800s and really do enjoy watching movies and reading books set in that era. In this deck I have kept the playing card standards for the court cards using standard pips including their conceptual depth in the imagery for the card. As archetypal references this is important but these are characterizations that can apply to teams and any situation or circumstance not just people.
Any card can be used to signify attitudes making the minor arcana imagery more important than it is treated with older style decks. There is no need to look for a card meaning when it is right there in the image plain to see and easy to understand. There is a pictorial key that will be available to all purchasers, these cards. The key describes the elements of the images and why I put them there but a reader can ignore all of these and make the cards their own.
There is also offered a small message for those reading for themselves. This is helpful when in emotional states and takes away the need to try and interpret for yourself but is too much for intuitive readings and big card spreads where the key will be of more use to guide through the intention/directive of the cards so that they make sense when paired or in larger layouts with positions.

Reading tarot should be exciting to learn and it should also reflect modern day understandings even when set in period costumes. Connecting the dots between an image as an answer to a query should quite simply make sense for readers most of the time. Dorothy strives to bring back the picture reading and intuitive aspect of reading tarot cards.
